Christian Group Says Apocalypse Coming on May 21, 2011

I’m sick of random groups guessing this stuff.

Ok, I’ll be the dissenter. I say-Lord Jesus, please come when more people have been saved by your Church! Also-I love life…so postpone it a bit.

If we only had three months left, I’d start smoking cigarettes again. 😉
 
It seems there is always some group claiming the world will end on such and such date because they discovered something in the Bible that nobody else ever saw or understood.

It reminds me of a cartoon from years ago called Bloom County. Opus the penguin was talking to this genius kid. The genius is holding a paper and claims to have come up with mathematical formula explaining all of existance. Genius says there is only one problem. Opus begins to disappear from the ground up. Genius says his formula can not explain flightless water fowl. Opus disappears completely except for his bill. Genius suddenly exclaims, “Oh wait!” He scribbles on his paper as Opus suddenly and completely re-appears. Genius says, “I forgot to carry the three.”

I think of that cartoon when I hear of another group that claims biblical proof for the end of the world and the date passes and we are still here. God love you all. 😃
 
Faith1960, good ole campy Harry has been making predictions since '92—they never come true. He seems to totally overlook all the verses where Jesus makes it clear that we can not even know the general time, much less specific day and month of His return. Campy Harry is good at using the same principle that all totalitarian governments prefer: keep people in fear, so you can control them (you probably know that Campy Harry also tells folks to avoid going to church of any kind and to listen only to him…he’s got Wannabepopeitis:hypno:)

Can you show me from the bible that those numbers and mathematical symbols are supposed to mean that?

Because Matthew 24:36 says “No one knows the day or the hour”. Are you calling Jesus a liar?

Google for “The Great Disappointment”. People have been predicting the Last Day for a long time. So far all of them have been wrong. I strongly suspect that this latest batch will turn out to be another lot of false prophets.

If these doom sayers would spend their time attempting to become more holy and growing closer to God, they would not be worried about the end time.

This is simply not credible and similar predictions have been made in the past. The only difference with this one is someone is spending money on billboards. It would be cheaper to have their followers walking around with signs that read: The End is Near, with the date.

Y2K anybody?
