Any validity to this statement?
there is a basic Faith and Practice which can be traced to the Book of Acts. See also Eph. 3:21,Jude 3. This fact, coupled with the plain promises of Jesus to preserve His Bride in every generation, should lead one to believe that there has been a remnant of God’s people in every generation, world without end."
There is indeed that unbroken string of Gods people, seperate from the Great Whore and her daughters.
There was of course diversity among these groups, just as God intended. But still…the unboken line. God has never been without His witnesses as to the truth, and the simplicity of the gospel.
Which of course is not alleged to be Catholic. Guess who the whore is? How do you debate this statment. What facts do you use?

Note how the Christians at Antioch settled their doctrinal dispute regarding circumcision of the gentiles.

They did not consult their local leaders. They did not claim the authority to make doctrine as they saw fith.

They appealed to the Church leaders.

This has always been the method of discerning the truth in the Church.

Those outside this sphere were in danger of teaching error. They were without authorization:

Acts 15

23With them they sent the following letter: The apostles and elders, your brothers, To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia: Greetings. 24We have heard that some went out from us without our authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said.
