Christian Jews or Jewish Christians

I have been reading that Paul wants to present to the Christian Jews at Rome his overview of how justification comes to all through the mercy of God in Christ. catholicireland.net/pages/index.php?nd=279&art=987

I had considered that Paul’s early followers were Jewish Christians and Gentile Christians.

Is there a difference between Jewish Christians and Christian Jews? I would have thought so. Christ’s followers are Christians.

I would appreciate hearing your views.

I totally agree with you. People of all stripes that believe in the gospel of the messiah of Israel, Jesus, are Christians. The difference between Jews and Gentiles are Jews are the natural branches of the olive tree, and Gentiles are the wild shoots grafted in. The Jews being the natural branches, can be broken off, but can be grafted back in when they believe the Gospel of their messiah, Jesus.

By* Jewish Christian* I mean a Christian from a Jewish background, just as Irish American is an American from an Irish background.
