It all depends on whom you count as left-wing. But some folks who are left-wing in either their politics or their theology by some definition but who have (in Publisher’s language) “spoken to my condition,” would be:

Karl Barth (politically left-wing–theology wacky)
Rowan Williams (politically left-wing–moderate liberal theologically)
James Alison (follower of Rene Girard–gay Catholic)
Thomas Merton (hopefully everyone knows who he is)
Bede Griffiths (dialogue with Eastern religions)
Owen Barfield (only marginally Christian, but interesting)
Stanley Hauerwas (neo-Anabaptist)
John Howard Yoder (Anabaptist)
Gustavo Gutierrez (liberation theology)
Amy Laura Hall (personal friend, has written a couple of books–prolife feminist)
Kevin Miller (colleague, former editor at CT–Anabaptist)
Fr. Richard Miller (parish priest–fan of Barth and Hauerwas)

I don’t personally get a lot out of Wallis, though I agree with him a lot more than most folks here do.
