There are various songs I really like although I do question some things.

for example, this song by Relient K called I need you (i. e God)

says " I need you like you would not believe"

and well God knows everything.

perhaps I’m looking too much into this but I just wanted to know what others thought.

“I need you like you would not believe”
is colloquial and probably rather sloppy use of language.
It’s meant to be chatty, I think. It’s not intended to offend or to be taken literally.
You might hear someone say, I need a drink like you wouldn’t believe. It’s a clumsy way of **emphasizing **the need.
