I feel it says God created from no thing. There was no creation or thing before god created.

“all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

I don’t think this says there is nothing in Him.
I don’t know what you mean when you say ‘nothing in Him’. All of creation is in God but this statement is meaningless prior to the act of creation by God. Before God created me I did not exist in God or apart from God.

There is Christian mysticism though. God became man so that we could have communion with God. God makes us like Himself.

Soma, here’s one other source on mysticism and contemplative prayer. You can read almost all of it on google books at the link below.

Fire Within: St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, and the Gospel - on Prayer
by Thomas Dubay - Religion
Reviews of Fire Within:
“This book is a gold mine for any Christian intent on making progress in prayer. Any reader who appreciates the relevance of the spiritual in these troubled times will find Fire Within difficult to put down. A work of art by a master of the spiritual life.”
-Fr. Benedict Groeschel
“A practical and exciting book that can change your life. If one hundred Christians put this book into practice, we would have a worldwide revolution, for there is no more revolutionary power than prayer and sanctity.”
-Peter Kreeft
