Hello and happy new year and blessed Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God!

I am curious as to whether or not anyone knows which pages of the Christian Prayer book we are to read today?
My divine office app on my iPhone may be telling me the wrong information, I’m not sure. What I do know is that the app is telling me that one of the pages to use is page 728 in the Ordinary which happens to be a Tuesday… Of course it’s Sunday not Tuesday!
Maybe it’s correct but it threw up a red flag for me!

Hope I can get some help with this.
Thanks and have a blessed day!

Hi Francis_W28,

I have a “Christian Prayer” book, however, although it will be similar to yours, mine is large print so I can just tell you what to look for.

In the beginning pages, (pp.173 in my copy), there is an actual section for **January 1, “Mary, Mother Of God.”****. Check your copy to see if you have it. My copy is put out by the Catholic Book Publishing Company, but I assume that all copies of the Christian Prayer book should be the same.

I don’t know that every version of Christian prayer uses the same page numbering so your millage may vary.

The only reason I can think that it says the ordinary is on p. 728 is if they replaced psalm 95 in the Invitatory with psalm 24 (normally the first psalm for Morning Prayer on Tuesday, Week 1). Tuesday, Week 1 is not part of the ordinary, but rather part of the Psalter. Just glancing at Divine Office and it looks like a bit of a mistype since they do use psalm 95 in the Invitatory.
  • In my copy, the Invitatory Antiphon is on page 175 with psalm 95 on p 688.
  • Antiphons, readings and prayers for morning prayer are on pp 175-178 with psalms and canticles from Sunday, Week 1 (starting page 707).
  • Evening prayer antiphons, readings and prayers are on pp 178-180 with psalms and canticle from the common of the Blessed Virgin Mary starting on p 1378

I’m sorry to reply here at the end of the day when this is likely no longer an issue, but my “regular” copy also has today starting on page 173. I’ve noticed divineoffice.org is occasionally off or the app doesn’t update as expected.

Thank you both,

I am sure it was just a hiccup with the website. Oh well, that is just something you come across from time to time with technology!
