Christian Prayer version question

Can anyone out there give me a complete description of the differences of the* Christian Prayer* by Catholic Book Publishing and the version by Daughters of St. Paul?

I’ve heard from other sources that the Daughters of St. Paul edition is more complete and better set up.

I’ve been wanting to get the four volume but realistically I cannot afford that and I was wondering if the Daughters of St. Paul version had more and if its a better alternative to the Catholic Book Publishing Christian Prayer.

I’ve been using the Daughters’ edition for several years and find it about 7 on a 10 scale. There is still quite a bit of page-flipping and while it conforms to the ICEL, I still find thre New American Bible trans lations a little akward at times.
I hope to have the four-volume breviary for the start of the next liturgical year, this one’s been with me across the US, up Mt. Whitney, and has been to México about 20 times. It does fit into a large jacket pocket or tuck into a backpack nicely.

I think the version from Catholic Book Publishing is more popular. If you think you’ll be praying in a group it might be easier if you have the same version as everyone else. If you’ll be praying alone then it’s not an issue.

If the way the book is set up is of concern to you, let me just put it this way: if you are going to pray the LOTH, you are going to have to deal with flipping pages about all over the place and a layout that seems complicated.

In all seriousness, my point is that the structure of the LOTH makes it impossible to put together an edition which is entirely linear… you’ll have to deal with some page flipping and initially confusing layouts. After a few weeks, though, it will seem old hat.
