Hello,
I am not sure if I have classified this question in the right group. I am Catholic, and have been introduced to Christian singers like Toby Mac and Jeremy Camp. I really enjoy the music and like its message. Is it ok to be fan, as a Catholic?

I am actually thinking of my 8 year son, I want him to enjoy pop songs without worring about the negative message most pop songs have.

It is absolutley OK - and encouraged. Just be careful of the subtle anti-Catholic themes, like Once Saved, Always Saved; Sola Fide; anti-organized religion, etc.

I listen to TobyMac, and he has some amazing songs. I suppose, since you are Catholic, you might want to review the lyrics to see if there’s anything with overtly non-Catholic doctrine. Other than that, there is nothing at all wrong with TobyMac that I can see!

I’m a huge TobyMac fan and am probably going to see him live in March! I would not classify any of his lyrics as anti Catholic, just in some cases, pro nondenom

Christian music is great. I’m partial to Sarah Kelly. 🙂
Something my husband and I noticed was that some of the really modern Christian rock has a tendency to sound like your average rock music.
You may want to consider the music in it’s entirety.
Everyone is very different in how their soul reponds to a song, so I’m not going to start picking apart various artists.

I hope its OK to like him because I started listening to his music again at the gym.

Momentum is a great song for the treadmill.

“Been on a roll for 2000 years or so. We got… we got momentum baby!”
