Does anyone think it could happen in the next 50 years with any of the other major denominations?

Maybe with some Lutheran, Anglican, and Orthodox groups. But I don’t see it with anyone else.

I don’t see that happening and I think the more Catholics that push for it will only hurt how far we have come in building better relations with the other Christian religions.

There are too many in the Evangelical and Reformed branches who are stubbornly anti-Catholic. So no. Possibly the Orthodox, but again unlikely IMO.

I think the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches might find unity. I like to believe that with the growing secularism in western civilization and the growth of Islam throughout the world, there will be a stronger alliance between the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church to preserve and grow the faith.

We should pray for Christian unity daily. It will require God’s grace to happen.

I think the next pope has a good chance at pulling together some of the orthodox brothers in the west, but not the east so much. Maybe?

As for Anglicans, absolutely, but not fully. They will cross the Tiber in steady numbers but the official “Anglican Church” will have to stay with the English society.

As for Lutherans, the most orthodox Lutherans may start a movement towards Catholicism but they will just further fracture.

As for other Protestant denominations, they will want the Catholic Church to change its stances on a good many things but alas, the Church cannot, due to being a slave to the truth and not the master of it.

That’s really going to take the action of the Holy Spirit! We pray for the reunion of all Christians every day in our morning offering!

I do believe that churches like the Anglican, orthodox, Lutheran church, and probably the conservative episcopalian church might.

You hear on the journey home with Marcus Grodi, how some pastors convert and move their flock to the Catholic Church. I think you will see that more of small churches, unite with the church, than your big churches.
