Christ made it clear that His will was for Christian unity. A lack of unity contradicts Christ’s will.

The early Church was adamant about unity among Christians. They were very vocal about the fact that anyone who did not remain in communion with their bishop and the bishop of Rome could not presume to be members of Christ’s body.

Schism is to break off of the Church that was handed down by the apostles, through their successors. Heresy is to adhere to teaching which contradicts that Church’s dogma.

Galatians 5:19-21 says, “Now the works of the flesh are obvious: immorality, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness, dissensions, factions, occasions of envy, drinking bouts, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

In the original Greek, the words dissensions and factions come out as heresy and schism. So, the Bible says that any who participate in heresy or schism will not inherit the kingdom of God.

What do you guys think this means for all of us today?

This is a tough one. I am not sure how much culpability modern non-Catholics hold. They may not know what the truth is. I do not think that God punishes someone for being born into the “wrong” faith system, or in the “wrong” era, or in the “wrong” country.

What is certain, no matter how you slice it, is that there should not be all these denominations. I just don’t know how to fix it.

“Our God is not the God of Confusion” - Bible

Compare that to this common statement.

“There are so many Denomenations that it just gets confusing!!!”

If God is not the God of Confusion, but yet there are so many confusing beliefs and denominations, who then do you think the author of that confusion is…

Just a thought

Hi

The confusion could be because of several factors, ignorance, superstitions, misunderstandings, misconceptions, misinterpretitions, mistranslations, losing the original text and reason not lead by Revelation or Word of GodAllahYHWH.

This could be rectified by prayer and good deeds.

[1:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful
[1:2] All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,
[1:3] The Gracious, the Merciful,
[1:4] Master of the Day of Judgment.
[1:5] Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.
[1:6] Guide us in the right path –
[1:7] The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

[2:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
[2:2] Alif, Lam, Mim.*
[2:3] **This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous, ****
[2:4] Who believe in the unseen and observe prayer and spend out of what We have provided for them.
[2:5] And who believe in that which has been revealed to thee and that which was revealed before thee **and they have firm faith in the hereafter.
[2:6] It is they who follow the guidance from their Lord and it is they who shall prosper.
Thanks

Put simply (from a Conference I attended), “Strife is a luxury that Christians cannot afford.”
Prophecy from the same Conference: “Weep for the Body of my Son is broken.”
