Christian worship and polytheism

Here is a simple refutation of the claim that Christians are polytheists.

Christians worship God.
The word “God” implies a single deity.
The word “God” further implies a simple deity.
Hence, Christians are monotheists.

The problem is, it is a MUDDY monotheism AT BEST because Christians are Trinitarian. IOW, Christians try VERY hard to have the Father Son and HOly Spirit and remain monotheistic, but it just really doesn’t quite wash. It comes across to others like Bill Clinton and his It depends what “is” is.

That would be the case if the three Persons were three gods. But they are not gods, only Persons. Their unity in God is a mystery too great to understand. But who could ever attempt to understand His simplicity?

If one follows Aquinas, God is simplicity (and that’s if Aquinas is right, which he may or may not be).
I think there is more to God than is suggested in the technical arguments about his supposed simplicity.
There is, for example, that trinity concept which creates a reasonably complex set of relationships and activities within the godhead.
But, I suppose from an existence point of view, either God exists or he doesn’t. It turns out that he probably does exist, and that is reasonably simple.
