First question:
Is this a rather naked attempt at “moral equivalency” between “Islamists” and those newly termed “Christianists”?

Second question:
What are your reactions to this “tactic” by Christian-haters, and ARE those who use this word anything but Christian-haters?

Third question:
Does merely using this word instantly identify the user as an “evil-doer” in your eyes?

Here are a couple of articles from a very superficial googling:

Kicking the “Christianists”

My Problem with Christianism

I use a variant of that term all the time…“Christianistas”. Personally I do not label everyone as evil who uses this term, nor do I label all Christians this term. Just as I would not label every Muslim as extremists.

I use the term “RELIGIONISTA” or a “CHRISTIANISTA” for the extremists such as Dominionists. The John Hagees of this world. The ones who abuse with power, the ones who shun when one does not conform. Waging war on those who do not conform. Telling them God will kill them or curse them for saying anything against them.

I have seen so called “Prophets” do this. The ones who see acts of nature as divine punishment, or even AIDS as some divine punishment. And making matters worse they same to take great pleasure in seeing others suffer. Some have the audacity to proclaim…"You should have listened to me, see there…see what happened?" AS IF THEY know the Mind of God! Makes me wonder how they view God. As someone who delights in destruction like the Fred Phelps (Westboro) nut jobs who protest funerals? Why would God send his son and create such a world only to destroy it and enjoy the pain and destruction, even to gloat over it?

Preachers who stand behind a pulpit ruling through guilt, fear, and intimidation. Many have a bunch of things to sell you to. They have been around for centuries, only the terms used for them are new.

I do not see my using this terminology as wrong either, They give Christianity a bad name by their very actions. I am not a word Nazi. People who get it will get it, those that don’t, well, that’s OK too.

BTW, I am a Christian who does not ever want to be lumped together with RELIGIONISTAS. They are so hateful, extremists…hiding under a Jesus Label.

Heck, ever read Mark Twain’s* The War Prayer*?

He felt pretty much the same way about what people do for and in the name of God, and believing it was God ordained, His short story was so shocking back then that his family begged he not publish it. So he waited and had the last laugh. It was ordered to be published directly after his death.

Meant to add but it was too late to edit post, I did not mean it was limited to just one group. Hatred is hatred no matter what name ones religion follows, does no have to be Christian. Religionista pretty much covers all extremist no matter the core beliefs. Take the Hindus who recently attacked a group of Christians for example.

You also have to ask yourself before being offended, are the ones who do these things under a Christian label really followers of Christ? I am not God and would not want the job! I do not know the condition of their their souls. But still, these people actually turn others away from God, they never point others to God.

Not ashamed to use the term at all.

whatever it doesn’t matter
right?
just the place u can find your love:thumbsup: 👍

With the exception of my thinking that the term “Christianist” can ONLY be used “incorrectly” by those using it, because of the very nature of Christianity (Catholic), as opposed to the nature of Islam which (to me) does allow a proper use of the term “islamist” (due to the inherently temporo-political nature of islam), I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said.

Those who think a “Christian Theocracy” is possible, which it isn’t, are indeed NOT being Christian by trying to warp Christianity into something that it simply can’t be forced into being.

Since those people aren’t being Christian by this attempted “warping”, it’s not correct to call them “Christianists” because the goal of non-Christians is never “Christianization”, which is the supposed goal of the “Christianists”.

Those who would use the word, in my opinion, ARE evil-doers in as much as they are culpable for what they understand Christianity to be. If they DON’T know what Christianity is, then they are merely ignorant, but if they DO know what Christianity is, then they are actually being evil by being anti-Christian.

Therefore, the use of the word makes the user either ignorant or evil. This is why the word is so incredibly useful as an indicator for either evangelization or “spiritual combat”.
