Layinghands - Sorry to hear that…Don’t you hate when you put your best forth in a post, only to have it disappear into the Great Oblivion of the internet?

Sufjon - I think you’re already gone over this, but could you please give me in a nutshell the Hindu understanding of why it is desirable to live a moral life, what the purpose of ethics are? Also, I know there are differences between castes - for instance, that it is acceptable for the “warrior” caste to kill and eat animals, but for others the moral principle of Ahimsa forbids that…could you talk about these differences just briefly?
Me too! It was quite fascinating plus if you really want to know about this book’s, “The Bhagavad-gita As It Is”, morality, it would behoove you to study GOD’s 3 modes of material nature…Goodness, Passion and Ignorance…and how are this Christianity and The Science of GOD (Bhagavad-gita) similar? Both their messages are the same.

Christianity- Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD as per the New Testament of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The Religion is based on the Gospel (Good News) of the Salvation and Redemption of the Human Soul for the return to GOD (GODHEAD).

The Science of GOD (Bhagavad-gita As It Is) is the descended incarnation of GOD, to Again begin the transcendental mystery of this science. I am not advising or promoting anyone join ISKCON. I have not, however, I believe GOD is My Spiritual Master. GOD’s Religion is a foundation of GOD’s instructions of how All Human Beings MUST live during this human life…for the Liberation, Salvation, and GOD’s Laws for Redemption, not only to return to His Home, but, also His forgivness during this human life, to take your past (this life and your last life too), SINS…in this way, he assists your spiritsoul to grow and live in knowledge and intelligence (the Mode of Goodness) as He builds your Spirit Body, for Eternal Life, back to GODHEAD…I will give you some quotes:

Please read the NY, first…and be re-awakened to how Our Lord Jesus the Christ, prayed to, defended, glorified, worshiped and LOVED His Father, GOD. Keep Jesus’s Greatest Commandment in your heart “The most important one, answered Jesus, is this: Hear O’Israel, the Lord our GOD, the Lord is ONE. Love the Lord your GOD with all your heart and with all your Soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength”.

I do think the Bhagavad-gita As It Is, (whole title), should be read, to gain its Knowledge. I am going to type a few quotes…

God says; “The living entities in this conditioned world are My fragmental parts, and they are Eternal. But, due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind”

“The demoniac, taking shelter of insatiable lust, pride, and false prestige, and being thus illusioned, are always sworn to unclean work, attracted by the impermanent. Their belief is that to gratify the senses unto the end of life is the prime necessity of human civilization. Thus, there is no measurement for their anxiety”

" After many births and deaths, he who is actually in Knowledge, surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes, and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare."

" I am the source of everything; from Me the entire creation flows. Knowing this, the wise worship Me, with All their Hearts"

“Deluded by the three modes (goodness, passion and ignorance), the whole world does not know Me, who am above them and inexhaustible”

“One who engages in full devotional service, who does not fall down in any circumstance, AT ONCE TRANSCENDS the modes of material nature, and thus comes to the level of Spirit.”

To those who are constantly devoted and worship Me with Love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me"

Hi Laying hands. It is so good to see someone studying the Gita so well. Have you ever read Paramahansa Yongananda’s two volume version, where he explains each passage in great detail? It’s somewhere around 1,000 pages and is the most in-depth study I have see on it. Here it is:

My kids gave it to me for my birthday 4 or five years ago and took me a year to complete it. Another set is where he compares the New Testament verse by verse to the Gita and other Hindu scripture:

Hi Sufjon,

Thanks for the recommendations. I looked into “The Second Coming of Christ” and it looks like a fascinating read. I think my wife is going to give it to me for Christmas. Again thanks.

Sufjon: Here is my rough copy. I plan on adding more graphics tomorrow, maybe some editing. I drew heavily from a Peter Kreeft (Catholic Philosopher) article - I didn’t cite the sources yet. Please tell me what you think.

That’s a great looking presentation Lee. I have never seen that format before, and you also did a great job on the comparisons.

I was surprised to learn that sanctity is not the Hindu goal. Sufjon, from our previous conversations, I had kinda assumed that apart from the different metaphysics, the spiritual goal was almost the same between us. Is that not true?

Hi Mary Beloved: I can see where you might have misunderstood me, as I’m not always all that clear. You and I - all of us - we already have sanctity, so the goal would be the realization of it. To know it. It’s so easy to go about our daily affairs and lose sight of it. We’re sacred and holy. The ground under us, the air - it’s all holy and sacred. Heaven is knowing it and feeling it. Not knowing it in theory, but *knowing *it. That’s what takes all the effort. That’s why life often seems so mundane and colorless - because we’re not looking and we’re not mindful. I can speak with some authority, because I’m one of the worst offenders. The good news is that I catch myself, so I’m making some progress.

Thank you, Sufjon…I read some of this and the simplicity and translation of The Bhagavad-gita As It Is, is much easier for me to understand, regarding GOD’s revelation of His Absolute Truth, of the Science of GOD.

I have found that many Vedic book translations are written in a translated english that tends to add to my confusion…maybe my not understanding their written manner as an incorrect relation of the english language or there are too many names and histories and it can become muddled and confusing.

The purpose of the Science of GOD was the revelation about GOD’s Absolute Truth, of HIS, the Supersoul’s Teaching to all Humanity. We, as Spiritsouls (portions of GOD the Supersoul) were rewarded to live this human life, in a (goodness) godly and knowledgeable way, everyday, moment to moment, breath by breath…willfully worshipping GOD…with all our hearts, souls, bodies and mind…

Its similarity to the preaching living message and teaching of Jesus the Christ, as the Son of GOD, The ONE, is one and the same…for our soul’s Salvation in Life and our Transcendental Spirit’s eternal life…therefore, going back to GODHEAD, from where we have come…and returning back HOME after this death, for GOD wants His devotees to come back HOME to Him…

This title I provided was the easiest to understand, of the english translations…directly translated from sanskrit to english, and provides only, the revelation of GOD’s relayed Science of the Bhagavad-gita’s Absolute Truth, specifically…

Peace
