God personally reached down into history and sent: prophets to proclaim his love, his law to guide his specially-chosen people, his Son to be with us and die for us, the Eucharist so he could remain with us always, the Holy Spirit to embolden our hearts toward sanctity and evangelization, the Church to teach and guide us… This is a personal God. A God of love. A God of forgiveness (the O.T. Is one giant saga of God forgiving his people over and over and over…) Then read about pagan worship. THAT is fear & slavery!
