Well obviously most of you guys here would know that Muslims believe in God and believe the Muhammed was his messenger. And Christians believe in the Trinity, The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Now I was watching a documentary that was talking about the Muslims and the Christians from Lebanon, and how there was a Church/Mosque made for both religion groups, and thats where they pray directly too the one and only God. Both groups also said on the video that we believe in the same God, but we have different beliefs, and different saviours who will come on Judgement day.

What do you think about this?

the spiritual campaigns of the Holy Catholic Church and the Islamic religion is the basis of the spiritual battle between the forces of good and evil in the heavenly realm. my book ‘true confession and perfect deception’ reveals this, and i am ready to share with you now.

Muslims would LOVE to think so. Cos otherwise, the islamic allah would have NO HISTORICAL BACKING.

But as Christians, we must know some very important points. Firstly, God would NEVER abandon his chosen people the Jews, to say otherwise is to insult His faithfulness. Secondly, God would NEVER pick someone who suffers fits, lies through his teeth, jumps at the sign of the eclipse, kills his enemies in cold blood and who sleeps with little infants as a prophet, to say otherwise is an insult to His holiness. Thirdly, God would NEVER appear in a dark damp cave to quietly appoint a subsequent prophet when He can and had appeared in public, speaking through the clouds to hundreds of witnesses at the Jordan River to witness for Jesus, calling Him His Son. To say otherwise would be Anti-Christ.

To accept that the muslims believe in the same God as the Christians would be an utter insult to God Yahweh.

Christians and Muslims most definitely do NOT worship the same God. Some Muslim individuals may do so, but only strictly outside of the confines of Islam, as Islam does NOT lead to God. Its foundation is something else, as is amply proven by comparing its writings to what came before it (as the Qur’an itself tells us to do). They do not match up, to put it politely.

The more and more one studies Islam, the more and more one realizes that the two religions are incompatible. Islam denies the crucifixion, the Trinity, and the divinity of Christ, all of which are paramount to the Christian faith. There are even more intricacies I could get into, but these three denials should be enough to awake the discerning Christian.

To say Christianity and Islam are the same, you might as well say Islam and Buddhism are the same.

How is it that Christians believe in God, who when a Christians time has passed, gives them no material things upon entry to Heaven. Yet Muslims believe God will give them virgins for killing other human beings.

How is it that we worship/believe in the same God? So to say God will give one group virgins and the other eternal life with no material things is just plain crazy. We don’t worship the same God. It is fact.

I think where it gets confusing to non Arab speakers is that in Arabic, there is only ONE NAME, ONE WORD, for the creator of the Universe. And that is Allah. Arabic speaking Christians, Muslims, and Jews worship Allah, the one creator God. That should not be hard to get, don’t we believe that only God created the Universe?

However, sometimes Arabic speaking Christians will say **Allāh al-ʼAb (God the Father) **when referring to God, to separate the word from the Muslim usage. Unless you speak Arabic most here would probably go, “OMG! A muslim!”. Never assume anything. I’m not sure if Arabic speaking Jews have something similar or not.

And no one should be surprised that the different faiths lives together peacefully in some parts of the world. Some have for centuries.

I’ve heard people say they (Arabic speaking Christians, Jews) should call God by another name, which is ridiculous IMO. That is exactly what the people I know on a messianic path want me to do. I know a few who try to correct me and say I am not using his real name. God knows who we are praying to and does not expect me to learn another language to pray to him. Call him Yeshua , God, Lord, YWHA, etc…God knows who you worship.

People are getting stuck on the name.

Wanted to add, if there is something else going on in that article, I don’t know. I just know about the name of God from growing up around Muslims. Both Persians (Iranians, Turks) and Arabs. Now there are other names that show his attributes, such as we have when we say Healer, Provider, El Elyon, etc…

The Malaysian Muslims strongly disagree with that, read this.

Just because a title of ‘God’ is given to an object of belief, a being, an entity, etc. doesn’t mean this what ever it is is in fact the Creator of the universe.

BTW, was the person offer her/his writing offering to sell the writing? If not, was the post in question a commercial?

Also, are most of our posts our writings?

If the writings are not for sale, I don’t see any problem. Of course as most know, I’m usually wrong.

**Acts 4:12

…It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11He is " ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone.’ 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Romans 10:8-10

8But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

1 John 2:21-23

21I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. 23No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.**

KORAN:

“The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was no more than God’s apostle . . .God is but one God. GOD FORBID THAT HE SHOULD HAVE A SON!” (4:171)

Those who say: “The Lord of Mercy has begotten a son, preach a monstrous falsehood, at which the very heavens might crack . . .” (19:88)

”God forbid that He Himself should beget a son!” (19:29)

“Praise be to God who has never begotten a son; who has no partner in His Kingdom . . .” (17:111)

“God has begotten a son. ‘God forbid! Self-sufficient is He.! (10:68)

“If the Lord of Mercy had a son, I would be the first to worship him.” (43:72-81)

I believe that Christians and Muslims do worship the same God. Similarly Christians and Jews worship the same God. However, Jews only accept part of God’s revelation while Christians follow the who revelation and Muslims follow a false revelation. Because it is a false revelation does not make believe in a different God.

What would make it a different God then, SyCarl? Does the Bible not clearly tell us that we cannot serve two masters? Obviously SOMEONE here is wrong, and it’s not the Christians. I don’t buy this “we’re all worshiping the same God regardless of how” business. Either orthodoxy matters and we should not entertain others’ beliefs as equal or analogous to our own, or it does not and we can each go to do whatever, to each their own, it’s all fine, etc.

As far as I can tell, Christian orthodoxy is expressed in the fact that God is ONE in the eternally uncreated and undivided Holy Trinity, that the Savior Jesus Christ is the second person of said Trinity, and that anything that detracts from that elemental truth of the Christian faith is not to be entertained by Christians.

If I have misunderstood something about Christianity in this regard, please let me know.

Amen, dzheremi. 👍

People who are quick to say Muslims worship the same God, just in their own way, seem to forget some fundamental facts about the rise of Islam:
  • It’s source is an “angel” calling himself Gabriel, from whom Mohammad received the entire Koran.
  • Mohammad, with this spirit as his source, taught many things contrary to Christianity - including denial of the crucifixion, denial of the Trinity, and denial of Christ’s divinity.
Now let’s see what scripture says about this:

By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. [1 John 4:2]

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. [Galatians 1:8]

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. [1 Corinthians 15:14-17]

The apostles of Christ were very clear - if someone receives any revelation or believes anything contrary to the gospel, they are contradicting the word of God and the instructions of Christ, and are heading far, far away from God.

Perhaps sincere believing Muslims have a thirst for God - but so would Arians, Nestorians Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and other heretical sects. Nevertheless, they are still following a false doctrine and not heading towards God.

That has been Christian tradition for over 2000 years. There are martyrs throughout the centuries who have died attesting to the Trinity. Only recently did people suddenly believe that one can treat the Trinity like a buffet - leaving out certain Persons but keeping the whole Being of God. That is not orthodox Christianity.

I am not suggesting that Islamic beliefs are correct or of any real value. I am saying that they are following a false revelation of God. The Koran is not the word of God and following will not help the Muslims because they have accepted a false teaching rather than the true revelation. It is the revelation and the practices it produces that are different and wrong, not the God.

Or are we to say that the Jews also worship a different God? They do not believe in the Trinity or that Jesus is the Messiah or divine. They do not believe He rose from the dead. Yet we recognize that they worship the same God that we do. They do not do it properly because they have only believed in part of the true revelation. The Muslims have believed a false revelation that has no saving value. That does not mean that they worship a different God, but only that they do not know the truth and will of the God they worship.

If Christ had prostrated before Satan and worshiped him, perhaps even if Satan had been in the form of an angel, He would have been in error. There are stories of monks who followed the false teachings and commands of demons disguised as angels, and all are believed to have been in error and have listened to the advice of demons.

Now if Muslims are taught to worship by what can only be a demon (for we cannot say it was the true Gabriel, or that it was God), who then are they worshiping? A distortion of God? Then it is not the true God. If the Koran is the Muslim understanding of God, and the Koran teaches a God completely different than the Christian God…then it cannot be God they are worshiping.
Or are we to say that the Jews also worship a different God? They do not believe in the Trinity or that Jesus is the Messiah or divine. They do not believe He rose from the dead.
You answered your own question. 🙂

Can a person worship God in lies? If the muslims like you agree are worshipping a false revelation and a false teacher how can they be worshipping the same God?

Can I say you have the same teacher as mine when mine is teaching math while yours in psychology and mine is a Ms Smith who has a husband and 3 kids while yours is a Mrs Jane who is a spinster?

Same? You can insist against sensibility that they are the same, but how and what would Ms Smith think of you?
