Considering our Lord was crucified in 33 AD and Mohammad traveled Arabia 600 years later, we came first. Please do some reading on early Church history - very interesting and will strengthen your faith as you learn about the exploits of our early Church fathers!

I sure will read about the early church history. TY

Are you serious? How can you ask such a question?

Of course Muslims would say that Islam was the “original” religion and pre-dated all others. But no non-Muslim would say that.

Yes you can’t confuse some people with facts and dates. That’s what is wrong today in our world.:(

THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUIDE TO ISLAM by Robert Spencer is about 260 pages and explains it all to you. I had no idea that by 600 AD, there were Chinese Catholic in, of course, China who were forced to convert by the Muslims who used the sword. Ditto for North Africa. It was 300 years after Charles Martel pushed them out of France that Pope Urban (I think that is the one) organized the First Crusade mainly because Catholic pilgrims were no longer allowed into the Holy Lands. So the Church was not exactly trigger happy when it took 300 years for the First Crusade. 👍

Muslims will say Islam goes back to Abraham, and even Adam was really the first Muslim. Of course they can’t prove it. Christianity can at least prove it goes back to Jesus time.

The group as we know it today did not exist until the seventh century. They claim to be the true faith of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, but such claims rely on later claims of divine revelation… such as with Joseph Smith and Mormonism.

Who came first, Christians or Muslims?
A similar question would be who came first, Jews or Christians?

Here is a timeline my friend, from who came first to who came last

Jews-Christians–Muslims

The three religions of Abraham known as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have done so much good for the world. I love seeing Muslims, Jews and Christians work together. 🙂

Who came first, Christians or Muslims?
This article is a good analysis of Islam vis-à-vis Christianity, although it addresses your exact question only tangentially. I don’t believe it is from a Catholic source, but it approaches Islam in a different manner and is worth the read.

Jesus lived from 4-7 B.C.-30-33 A.D. Muhammad lived from 570-632 A.D. So Christianity came first. The expansion of Islam destroyed many religions, including nearly wiping out the ancient Iranian religion of Zoroastrianism, which many believe assimilated with Judaism during the Babylonian exile. It still exists but it is not what it once was.

I know we’re off topic, but Jimmy Akin says that Jesus almost certainly died in A.D.33 and was born in 2-3 B.C.

Jimmy Akins’ guess is just that; a guess. He isn’t anymore accurate than anyone else who has studied the subject over the last 2,000 years.

It’s pretty much universally accepted by historians and theologians that this is true. What basis do you have for thinking otherwise? When was he crucified?

The fact of the matter is that we don’t know and will never know with certainty. The best that can be done is an educated guess. I have seen many hypothoses that put the crucifixion anywhere between 29-31A.D. but trying to p(name removed by moderator)oint it any closer is futile. Even the question about the length of Jesus’ public ministry usually varies from 1 to 3 years. We don’t have the facts and the gospels aren’t consistent enough for us to state anything with a degree of certainty.

It’s a pretty historical proof that Jesus was born in 4-7 B.C. This is because we now know Herod died in 4 B.C.
