I’m Catholic and my husband is not Christian. We received many cards, religious and not. I think it all depends from the intention of people sending it and on our relationship with them. I give you an example, if my relatives are sending for both of us a religious card with a nice nativity scene (maybe from a famous painter) it doesn’t bother my husband at all and we know their intention is genuine.
Then there are other cards, like the one of an acquaintance, that seldom interacts with us, but that at Christmas gets in “conversion mood” and sends us a card with only a gigantic MERRY CHRISTMAS, a very serious bible citation and the picture of his family.
In this case it’s hard not to think of it as a provocation and something not very respectful. We would have appreciated it more if they would have shown the same zeal and care for our souls while building a friendly relationship with us during the past year. ![Person shrugging :person_shrugging: 🤷](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f937.png)
