Hi all,
I am having a hard time coming up with a Christmas gift idea for my friend and her husband and their 6 mo old baby girl. I was thinking of making some sort of gift basket that could include something for the baby (which I’m sure I won’t have trouble coming up with) but I don’t know what to get my friend and her husband. For all of you with young kids what kind of things did you like receiving? BTW, they are not Catholic. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Food! (whether it is gift certiciates or items to make a meal (or 2).
Gift certificates for movies, nights out, or something they enjoyed doing as a couple, along with a certificate to babysit for free.

I’d get a card, make a coupon good for one free night of babysitting, and tell them to enjoy themselves for awhile.

**How well do you know your friend and her husband?

If you don’t really know their personal tastes, I would keep it simple with maybe some home baked goodies and some neutral home items (like kitchen towels).

If it were for me and my hubby I’d like some gift certificates to rent movies, maybe some specialty flavored hot chocolate, or specialty alcohol (like Bailey’s etc). Or both…Bailey’s and hot chocolate are yummy together:thumbsup:**

**If they like coffee, a few varieties of coffee beans and some biscotti (store bought or homemade) and some of those fancy flavoring (like hazelnut) syrups… maybe a couple of nice mugs too…

Maybe clothes?

When I was young, I used to hate getting them as gifts, but now, I’d prefer people to give me gift cards to my favorite clothing store hah.

Movie night basket: gift card to a local rental place, microwave popcorn, couple of cans/bottles of soda, candy…and something for the baby

Dinner in a basket: box of pasta, jar of pasta sauce, loaf of bake and take bread, olive oil and spices for dipping.

Breakfast basket: pancake mix, syrup, hot chocolate mix and marshmallows.

I would love all of those.

LOL, how about some sort of sedative so mom and dad can follow the natural progression of a movie/date night and not be disturbed by baby?;):D**

…natural progression of a movie/date night…hmm…that’s falling asleep on the couch right;)

What PPs said… free food is the BEST! My hubby and I used to eat out all the time. Babies change your budget. 😉 A gift certificate to their fave restaurant would be very well-received; I promise!

Do a date night IN - in a basket. movie - DVD, dinner- pasta sauce, noodles, dessert - chocolates, candle holders. You could add lavendar room spray for the baby to sleep or a little cozy blanket (natural baby sedatives)

It was the sexiest gift I recieved from any of my wedding showers.

It’s a little work to put togeather, but worth it.
