It looks as though I will be missing Mass completely this Christmas. We had a big snow storm come in this afternoon, will be getting more snow over night and all the roads in my area are all ice and drifting snow. I know the part of the county I live in won’t be plowed in time to make it to Mass.

I know it won’t be a sin but I love Christmas Mass and am so disappointed to miss it for the first time in a long time.

It is sad when we are forced to miss it against our wishes. God will still be with you and your family in a special way.

Merry Christmas, and good luck shoveling out your driveway 😉

can you watch a Christmas Eve Mass on tv or Christmas Day Mass? Perhaps Pope Francis in Rome?

We had a big snowstorm here too where I live and I had to attend the 4pm Mass instead of the 11pm Mass. Driving was pretty scary and I had to leave my car in town and have my son pick me up.

I understand your disappointment though, but sometimes it can’t be helped and God understands. Your safety is what matters.
God bless you! 🙂

Many are in this situation. Here even were I well enough, gales, and deluges and unsafe roads.

You adapt .

:hug3:

I will remember you in my prayers at mass this morning.

It is very difficult to miss mass – I had to miss Christ the King and the 4th Sunday of Advent this year due to illness. It was so very difficult.

Let’s all remember all those who are homebound this year in our prayers. And if God
allows, let’s reach out to them in this holy season.

I am very lucky, my church is just five minutes’ walk away from our house. It was very windy last night, but I went to the 7pm Mass - the first time I’ve attended a Christmas Mass at that time in this particular church.

I was surprised to find the church (usually a third full at most) packed to the rafters, with standing room only. It was great. 🙂

Same here. Our church is normally only half full. Last night, it was standing room only. As I was sitting in the pew before the start of Mass, I just looked around at all the people and said to myself, “I wish it was this way every Sunday”. I loved how loud the responses were from the congregation.

The responses weren’t very loud around me! I think a lot of people there were VERY infrequent attenders. 😃

However, there were a lot of young adults there which was great to see - the average age of our congregation must have fallen by about 25 years last night. It made me think that even when people give little thought to the religion of their birth, there’s still something in their hearts that pulls them back home for the great religious festivals.
