Who here regardless if it was an OF or an EF mass heard the Christmas proclamation sung before it started? I love hearing it.

Once in 12 years … 'twas chanted. The Proclamation of the Nativity of Christ is assigned to the reader of that mass at our church. And only once was the reader for that mass a singer thus far. It was grand!!!

Never. Then again, I’ve only been to two Christmas masses (I’m a convert). I don’t see why the organist (who also doubles as a cantor, thanks be to God) doesn’t do it, because he does a wonderful rendition of the Exsultet, as the priest has an awful singing voice and so does the deacon.

or former pastor (with a beautiful voice) chanted it every year before Midnight Mass, have not heard it since.

It was chanted. Absolutely beautiful!
At a very reverent OF Mass.

It was chanted at the parish we went to for Midnight Mass. We are out of town visiting family, so I do not know what our home parish did.

A religious Sister attached to our Cathedral chanted it at our Midnight Mass.

It was wonderful.

Yeah it was chanted at all three masses its my fav part. And also the Easter exult I love hearing that at the Easter vigil.

my priest, who has a lovely singing voice, chanted it before Mass. heaven 😃

I sung it before the Mass, as is forseen by the rubrics.
At which point would it be chanted if the Mass during the Night is immediately preceded by the Office of Readings as a solemn vigil of the Lord’s Nativity?
