Thank you! I can definitely use a few of the suggestions. And it reminded me that I want to make my grandmas’ blue cheese stuffed celery sticks.

Merry Christmas!

Corn casserole! Very simple. A box of corn muffin mix, a can of corn (not drained), a can of creamed corn, 2 eggs, 1 stick of butter – melted, and 8 oz of sour cream. Mix well, pour into 13x9 pan, and bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
I make the same but without the eggs.

I love fresh cranberry sauce! What you do is purchase a package of whole cranberries (do not try and taste one right out of the bag, they are super tart!), put them in a pot over medium-high heat with about a cup of water and a cup of sugar and wait until they pop! It’s very similar to popcorn, so when all the berries have popped, you take it off the stove, and let it sit. I like to leave the berries in the sauce to give it some texture, but you can definitely strain the mixture and just let the liquid sit in the refrigerator. It is always a hit, especially on biscuits; you can always save the leftovers and use it like jelly. Perfect by itself or on bread, muffins, pancakes, etc. 🙂
I only do fresh cranberry sauce. It’s so easy to make and a zillion times better than the scary can shaped jello looking sauce from a can.

Anastasia: Corn recipe is in the oven as we speak!! It sounds so good.

Prayers for your family grasscutter.

I hope you enjoy it! It’s become part of every holiday at our house after my aunt first tasted it at a church potluck dinner years ago.

We’re doing something a bit different for Christmas…

Hubby is cooking a Rib Roast and a Ham. So I plan on doing Boston Baked Beans in the crock pot.

Navy Beans…soaked overnight
Bacon/Salt Pork
Molasses
Brown Sugar
Medium Onion…diced
Dijon Mustard
Ground Cloves
Hot Water

I don’t have the amounts…but you slow cook on low for 8 hours.

I’m also doing mashed potatoes, homemade cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, and a tossed salad.
