Christmas window silhouettes: The Christmas card to the neighborhood

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

Window update: I initially had Mary riding a donkey and Joseph walking with his shepherd’s staff to Bethlehem in the distance. Now that they are in Bethlehem, I’ve changed them out to a shepherd and his sheep. These are taken from inside the room with daylight coming in. It’s a dark overcast day, but you get the idea. It would be much brighter on a sunny day, and of course it’s meant to be lit from the light inside the room for the people passing outside when it’s dark. The sun sets early here.

I traced a silhouette that I liked right off the computer with pencil onto tissue paper. Then I put the tissue paper onto a thin cardboard and traced again, except with a sharpie felt pen, and the pen went through the tissue onto the cardboard.

I love this idea, especially the thought of it being a Christmas card to the neighborhood. It seems like a doable craft, even for me, and adaptable to all holidays.

Very nice!

Back in the day we used stencils and a can of snow spray. Hold the stencil up to the window and spray. You would see them all over the neighborhood. Don’t see them at all now. Yours is nicer anyway.
