I have an evangelical friend who likes to tell me that Christ stood in my place and was punished in my place (and everyone else’s) when He was sacrificed on the cross. He says that Christ bore all of the Father’s anger for me, in my place. He also says that when the Father looks at me, He transfer’s Christ’s righteousness to my person. (He believes in *sola fide, *but according to him, one’s works are a demonstration of one’s faith to the point that if one has faith, then one will necessarily do good work.)
