Why do you think it was that Christ didn’t eliminate every trace of poverty and injustice while He walked the earth?

Are there examples of attempts that He may have made?

Because without such things we would not have free will. It is in the new Heaven and new Earth that such things will be realized. Jesus said ‘my kingdom is not of this world’.

He did eliminate it. The poverty we were in was spiritual, and the injustices were to one another. That’s why He said, visit those in prison, feed the poor, and clothe the naked.

He expected it to continue through us. We were recreated anew, new life, new Spirit within us, He came to show us how and it was through HIs church.

But we’re not listening too well these days. We talk about welcoming the stranger in Church but we’re not always welcoming to those we read everyday.

He laid the basics, and they weren’t suggestions, they were commands. Jesus was a Gentleman. He won’t force your heart to feel the pain of the migrant whose country is crawling with drug dealers and they fear for their children, feel the pain.

Do we feel anymore? And may I ask for what

Jesus restored many who were crippled and not only because of a physical disability but also more importantly forgave them their sins. Even more important he passed that incredible and amazing power to His Apostles.

One striking example is the paralyzed man. Did you notice Christ first forgave his sins and only later dealt with his physical disability?

He came to heal us both physically and spiritually.

Having said that He choose not to end all evil / suffering / injustice so that we may also exercise our charity and show our good work for the glory of God and to set an example to our fellow humans.

If you look closely in His Cross He reversed the greatest curse humankind had : our fall from grace because of the original sin. He therefore opened for us the possibility of attaining Heaven, where no more evil / suffering / pain exists, only pure joy, happiness and love.

Christ did not eliminate the injustice done against himself, he died an innocent man and he prayed forgive them Father. If Christ died for me and for you, it must mean that he loves us as he loves himself.
