I wanted to know why after Vatican II, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ have been changed during the Consecration.
Currently, the Priest reads - "This is the cup of my blood. The blood of the new and everlasting covenant which will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven.
If you read any translation of the Bible, the word all does not appear, rather the word MANY.
I checked and the words ALL and MANY are not interchangeable and are not synonyms for one another.
can someone please clue me in here as to why the words of our Lord were changed?
Thanks!
