I am suffering from a chronic illness that has afflicted me since the start of this year. I was diagnosed with chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome a few months ago, after suffering debilitating urinary symptoms and perineal pain for a considerable period of time without relief.

I am in my early twenties still, which is considered to be very young to come down with this condition.

This has been an important year in my life. I am due to start a postgraduate degree in less than three weeks, after gaining a full scholarship. I also have a contract with a big, world-renowned law firm.

The illness has therefore come at the worst time possible and is negatively affecting my life, and by implication the future I have worked hard to create.

Antibiotic treatment has been unsuccessful and I am in real need of prayer, now more than at any other time in my entire life 😦

You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Vouthon’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

I am a female with a chronic bladder condition and pelvic floor dysfunction. My heart goes out to you! Theses bladder issues are the worst! It consumes my mind sometimes and I find it hard to think about other things. It’s like someone invisible constantly tapping me on the shoulder telling me I need to go to the bathroom, but then I can’t empty my bladder when I get there. Sorry if that’s TMI, but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

I have had tooth pain all day. I just offered it up for you. :signofcross:

God of Compassion, You willingly took on

Yes, these chronic urological conditions are truly miserable and debilitating! I hope that both of us are given the required grace to overcome the discomfort that our respective conditions bring us and find proper relief for the symptoms.

Praying. . . . Prayer of apology and thanksgiving because of forgetfulness to say “thank You” to Our Lord for all the blessings He pours on us and we do not even realize it. The thread could also be closed before we know it and I want to get the “thank You” in. 😃 The self-admonitions of Santa Teresa de Jesús (the original Spanish is 11 stanzas) is quite helpful during life’s difficult times.

I too have a chronic prostatitis. As an older man, I also have BPH (enlarged prostate). The combination is painful and difficult to treat. The Urologist tells me that some forms of physical therapy will cure the prostatitis. He also tells me to empty my prostate whenever it is painful. I find this morally challenging but spoke to several priests and have been assured that as long as my intent is medical and not for pleasure, I can use the doctor’s advice. I write all of this because I pray for healing and a cure and moral guidance to remain in God’s love and mercy. Any advice is truly welcome.
 
A Prayer to Jesus for Those in Pain

Dear Lord, You are the Just Judge, Holy and True.
You are the Most High God. You give us life.
You hold all power in Your hands.
You are the Mighty one from God who carries
the world, and is ruler over all the earth.
