JL: Thanks One, What is the difference in Calvary Chapel and Vineyard, are they the same? Also why is it Calvary Chapel or Vineyard posters will not identify themselves, but hide behind the generic christian or protestant?
I don’t think they are related. I met some Vinyard people some years back. They were counseling at an abortion facility while we were saying the rosary there Sunday mornings. We had very plesant relations. We were invited, and went, to the wedding when the two leaders were married. We never got into any discussion of beliefs.

JL: My understanding Vineyard was a split from Calvary. At a letter time they sort of reconcilled. I’m not sure if they are still two differenct denominations or now one.

I think the Vineyard Movement split over Lonnie Frisbee who was instrumental in building Calvary Chapel in the 70’s with the “Jesus Movement”. The Vineyard focused more on the spiritual gifts like speaking in tongues and so on and less on systematic teaching, it was a bit more experiential than doctrinal. There both cut from the same cloth really, not much difference. I’ve met some good people from both camps. They usually will help out volunteering at each perspective “churches” events, or food ministries. They have had a bit of success with drug and alcohol outreach. Other than that, I don’t know much about them. Like Calvary Chapel there are many of them spread throughout the world. 🤷
