I may be posting this on the wrong forum, but I hope not… If it is, Mods, can you move it to the correct place? Thanks!

Anywho… I just wanted to share how great looking this Cathedral is going to be. I live close to it, and I’m awaiting for its completion. It’s supposed to be a wonderful, modern-looking Cathedral. Although I prefer the traditional old-looking ones, I’m excited for this one! Take a look at the plans.

Anyone else have pictures or websites of church buildings under construction?

Ooo! Ooo! Ooo!

Well, no new church construction around here at the moment. (Well, our new hall just got started but that’s different.)

I just wanted to say that if you can manage to get a tour during the construction, please do so! I know that the design of the Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral in Los Angeles is not popular around here but I was lucky enough to go on a tour while it was being built. We got to see the springs (for earthquake protection) that the foundation lies on top of. I know I’m kind of a geek but I found that really interesting. Now that area is all filled with dirt so it can no longer be seen.
 
I sure it will be welcomed since the old cathedral was damaged by an earthquake…but for my taste, it’s more modern than I like. Give me the design of the Basilica in Milwaukee instead or the great churches dotting Germany and Prague

Too modern for me too, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a wonderful sight. Besides, there’s a lake across the way from it, that’ll make it even more appealing to the eye.

Wonderful looking one! It does have MANY pictures…
 
I’m sorry but it doesn’t look like a Catholic Cathedral to me it’s more like an office building or a game park.
They can still build a contemporary looking church but not like this one.
