It’s our own failing when God is calling us to seek the face of God in everybody.
I certainly don’t disagree, but I wonder why our conversation is about sympathy for the accused rather than justice for his victims. These young men may have had all their innocence and hope in the Gospel stolen from them.

I get so tired of hearing about 50 year old cases that suddenly become today’s news.

But if the allegations are in fact credible, it is also an indictment of people who kept so quiet for so long.
There is so much wrong in your comments…you have no clue…
The way all of this was swept under the rug for forty, fifty, sixty years IS indeed an indictment of those who helped to hide it.

NOT directed at Pup7…

an indictment of people who kept so quiet

Are you kidding me?

Your indicting people who were very young kids and were molested and raped. DO you have ANY idea of the psychological damage that does to a child? Then your indicting that same child who carried this pain with them their whole life for not doing something?
This same child who had their trust in the church broken, who did try and tell someone, then the church found out and just simply moved the priest to a “retirement home”.
The Church, which we are to love and trust beyond measure broke this child’s heart, then the child suffers through all their days into adulthood with it. Some who said nothing for fear of embarrassing not only themselves but their family, as they blame themselves for something that was so evil and perpetrated upon them by someone they were taught to trust, by someone who is a direct servant of God, you indict them?
The same child who to this day tries to get some sort of help from the Church but it still falls on deaf years?

Not everyone is looking for a lawsuit and a payday, some just want help healing not only themselves but their faith as they still believe in Christ’s Church…

Respectfully,

M
