The ironic humor is how you sweep in blindly, instantly throw praise upon Portrait, but didn’t even take the time to see the contradictions in Portrait’s own arguments. If you want to take the time to become involved in this, rather than dropping by for a few cheap jabs and bailing for we can defend ourselves, that would be greatly appreciated.
Also, how do you feel about rock and roll / pop music? Is this also evil? I’m just trying to see if you are coming from the same reference of Portrait or if your views differ at all.

He quoted Father Amorth as saying that (paraphrasing) “the Potter books are bad”.
In the same interview with Father Amorth he said (direct quote) “magic is always a turn to the devil." Despite this FACT he continues to contest that HP is bad and Narnia and LOTR are “wholesome” and full of “Christian morals” despite the use of magic which according to Father Amorth is “ALWAYS A TURN TO THE DEVIL”.
He’s done a good job of one thing. Being stubborn and ignorant to facts and this has not been denied by him and can not be refuted by you so if you also fail to see the contradiction there then it’s your posts that aren’t worth reading as you clearly have nothing intelligent to add to the discussion.

Oh puhlease. There is no need for your scathing insults. I have been in these endless Potter threads before. I have always agreed with and contributed to the view taken by Portrait (as have many other Catholics, Orthodox, and protestants).
You have many vitriolic posts defending the Potterite view. You have free will to do so. But I believe Portrait has refuted y’all aptly. There is no need for me to assist him further.

That is because it is not an intelligent discussion. There is nothing particualrly intelligent about a group of witch children going to witch school and learning about spell casting from witches.

Calling you a cheap debater, saying that you lack faith, that you’re blind to the obvious. Those are insults. These are the kinds of things that Portrait has said to those of us who present him with facts because he has none of his own to add… just like you don’t.

I do not believe it was a scathing insult. I made a good point in my initial response to you, and the only word you reply to is ‘Humorous’. And if you are basing your opinions on the orthodoxy, remember that there are many Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants who hold the opposing view, so that doesn’t really state much at all, does it?
As for intellectual arguments, check out my 3 logical arguments on the previous page. That should give you a brief summary. And as far as apt defense, Portrait can’t even explain the contradictions in his own arguments, let alone refute ours. If you want to debate, than debate with us. If not, your comments add nothing to this thread.
Furthermore, there is no need for attitude. You literally offered nothing to the conversation on the initial post other than taking a jab at we who enjoy the books without fact or reference.
And sorry I’ve forgotten this from my more recent posts, but Portrait, please respond to the issue of Lucy Pevensie.

If you want to debate than do it. Your personal opinions and quick lines of banter don’t enhance the conversation, only detract from it. Again, you ignore the arguments made in our posts to focus on the unimportant, personal exchanges.
