Does anyone know what the trend of the RCC is in america? Growing, declining, stagnit? How is the Church dealing with ‘secularism’ (what is secularism exactly) in Europe? Thanks and God bless.

This is based on pure personal observation, but this is what I’ve noticed in my area.
I see 2 swings of the pendulum happening at once - a swing to more orthodoxy that I’ve noticed through an increase in the good solid Catholic bible studies and conferences our diocese offers (people like Scott Hahn, Jeff Cavins, Fr. Groeschel, etc). The people I talk to who attend these, for the most part, want orthodox teaching to come back and want the Church to hold its ground on its beliefs and teachings. Attendance at these events increases - a lot - each year. It’s encouraging.
But, on the other hand, I also see an increase in ‘I don’t need a bunch of old men in Rome’ telling me what to do or believe.
Go figure. I’d love to see some national and regional statistics on a variety of Catholic-related issues. .

My prediction is that we will see a bigger movement of “100% Catholics” and an increase in their number. In turn, these apologists and lay leaders will start a chain reaction of growth in the church. “Cafeteria Catholics” will be challenged more, and the Church will get stronger.
(“100% Catholics” is a term I made up for those of us who follow 100% of the Church’s teachings)

What is needed is we all work together to transform the church into would it should be. This will take time as a number of bishops need to be replaced with strong vocal bishops loyal to the magisterium.

I think every Diocese should offer the Tridentine Mass once a week, bring back abstinence every Friday, be more Orthodox, rather than the loosening on the rules. I think the lossening of the rules does more harm than good, that’s just my opinion.
Overall I would say growth is stagnant and any growth can be attributed to the surge in Hispanic populations.
