Church in Coppell Texas

I am visiting Coppell texas this weekend. I lean towards the more traditionalist type. I see there is a church there. Could anyone PM me regarding opinions on whether I would enjoy Mass there or not.
 
I’ve never been, so I can’t tell you about how they celebrate the mass, but I was able to find their webiste: Saint Ann Parish.

Over on the left, there is a church tour with lots of pictures. They show many many more pictures of the Saint Kilian’s chapel rather than their main sanctuary, but there is one picture of the main sanctuary in the tour. This may tell you some of what you want to know about the church.

Here’s the Dallas diocese website list of parishes. I wasn’t able to find any that celebrate a tridentine or Latin Novus Ordo. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist though!

I used to live the Dallas area. For a very reverent Mass of the OF I can recommed St. Thomas Aquinas in Dallas. They also have a Traditional Latin Mass at a chapel in a convent and there is a Byzantine parish in Irving Tx which is close by. Send me a PM for directions.
 
I have been to St. Ann in Coppell once or twice. There was nothing about it in particular that stood out to me. It’s a good church, and it’s very big. I remember there were mostly families with small children when I went. It felt similar to most of the churches in the area… neither very traditional nor very contemporary.

There is an Anglican rite church in Arlington (if you don’t mind driving half an hour) called St. Mary the Virgin. It is more traditional, and you may enjoy it. This is their website. stmarythevirgin.org/

if you mean enjoy in the sense of enjoying a delicious meal, exciting ball game or good movie I can’t say. If you mean will you participate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Blessed Lord and hear his Word proclaimed, yes if it is a Catholic Church whose pastor adheres to the form for the Mass and sacraments, yes you will experience something far deeper and more important than enjoyment. Will you see and hear minnor things that disturb your comfort level to a degree? Quite possibly but of course any member of this forum is far too mature to allow such things to interfere with their full active participation in the Mass.
 
I am back from my trip. We attended the St. Anns and it was nice. Nothing really out of the ordinary. Definately contemporary in feel (probably the contemporary mass). I didn’t find anything that stood out as an abuse and enjoyed the Mass. (of course) I had to sit in the balcony because of the hordes of people.

Two points on this fine parish.
  1. It is way way way too big. Coppell needs another if not two more parishes.
  2. I found it odd that the parish of this size (and affluency) didn’t have a parish school.

  1. Due to the sheer number of Mass Atttendees Remptionis Sacramentum #102 should be enforced at this fine parish. I counted 18 EMHCs. In addition to the priest and Deacon.
