The Communist government backed by Ezhava community in Kerala state, India is practicing anti christian activities. Christians constitute around 20 percent of the population in Kerala. They are much strong in education, social life and they are rich. Now the government finding that chrstians are obstructions to them in their aims, they are following anti minority activities. Openly, a person cannot say that there is anti christian activities. But actually the church is suffering.
There are many examples. Catholic church had started 10 technical high level institutions in Kerala 8 years back. Also 4 Medical colleges. Now the Government is not giving affiliations to new courses. Church has started these colleges by taking millions of money from banks as loans. They won’t allow us to collect fees for our survival. They create problems everyday.
Communist leaders are abusing catholic bishops publicly. To make other communities think against christians, they do a lot.
In many cases , Government and universities cancelled the afffiliation and recognition of catholic institutions. Church had to approach court inorder to get justice. Even after getting orders from courts, the universities are not ready to obey them.
In other parts of India, like Orissa and some parts there was violence against christians. But here in Kerala, the attack is done indirectly. The communist government will destroy the Christian community in Kerala. Pray for us.

This is so sad. I will certainly remember you and the Church in my prayers. It’s such a shame that things like this are going on. My husband is from a Hindu family in Mumbai but he and several of his relatives attended Catholic schools in and around Mumbai. In fact, one of the things we found in common was that we had both attended Catholic schools; he as a Hindu in India and me as a Catholic here in the US.
Mother Teresa spent her life working to help those in need in India so you’d think that the government of India would be more tolerant of Christians, in general and Catholics in particular.

So many suffer for the Lord around the world. I will be praying for you and your country.:signofcross: Hope in the Lord!

Because there are no anti catholic policies. If church is suffering, it is due to its sinners. Autobiography Of of Ex Nun is a point in focus.

Every educational institute has to fullfil certain conditions. Approval has to be taken from the regulatory bodies. Curriculum has to approved by UGC etc. Many other istitutes too complain like that. But rules are equal for all.

But how does it amount to anti-catholicism? Delayed approvals do not mean that there are restrictions on practice of the churches.

Take it up with the communists.

It happens to many institutes. Courses run by the Govt. universaties too get de-recognised. But how does it amount to harassement?

In Orissa, the trouble started with the brutal murder of 82 year Swamy Laxamananad.

But in another part of India, they published a bible in which Deut read like: Burn their sarnas. Sarnas are the holy groves of the Sarnas. Church was forced to apologise and withdraw the book.

In Karnataka, they published a book heaping abuses on the Hinduism and its deities. Only after some riots did the church apologise and withdraw the book called Satyadarshini.

Exact references for all allegations would be a help.

Persecution of Christians in the name of imaginary wrongs seems to be increasing in India in accordance with a certain ideology propagated by certain Hindus. It is equally well known that such behavior does not find any justification in Hindu Scripture.

Amal2008 was asking for prayers, not for political solutions, on this Catholic forum. I hope you understand.

Praying for you and for all who suffer for the sake of Christ.

“'Blessed are you when people abuse you and persecute you and speak all kinds of calumny against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven; this is how they persecuted the prophets before you.”

Matthew 5:11-12**

Ben, I noticed that you are an Anglican attending RCIA and you enjoy reading C S Lewis and J R R Tolkien.

You might also like to read three other famous English Anglican coverts to Catholicism:

G K Chesterton

John Henry Newman
(soon to be canonized)

Dom Bede Griffiths OSB (his autobiography, The Golden String is a very good read; he was the student and friend of C S Lewis at Oxford)

Prayers for imaginary wrongs? The OP is politically motivated. Does OP give "exact references?

Let those who pray decide for themselves whether the wrongs are imaginary. Btw, this is a Catholic forum in the US, so people are not motivated by political considerations in India, in judging an issue.

But ongoing violence against innocent Christians for imaginary wrongs in the long ago past is what you have been justifying. That is your version of Hinduism?

Praying for peace and understanding among all peoples. We are the body of Christ!

“Jesus, son of David, have mercy on us.”

I will keep the Church and its believers in Kerala in my prayers.

The Naxalites (Communists) claimed responsibility for the attack on the fundamentalist Hindu Swamy Laxamanand, why are Christians then being attacked?

The Karnataka book you mention has nothing to do with the Catholic Church. The person who published the book was Hindu at the time, when he converted to Christianity, do you have any evidence that he became Catholic?

You and many other Hindus have a misunderstanding of Christianity, would it make sense to you that a group would have a grudge against Vashnavites in Gujarat because of grievances by Tamil Jains? Then why do you attack Catholics when Pentecostals or Evangelicals proselytize people - do you not realize that we are not in union with one another? We Catholics have no control over what they do, infact they attempt to proselytize our people to their group!

CPI(M)(Communist Party of India-Marxist) leading LDF(Left Democratic Front) Government of Kerala is still creating problems.the education minister ,who came from the same syrian christian community(a commie ofcourse) is washing hands about a Tele Film(“the wound”) Portraying Bishops of Chrisitan churches in a wrong sense(as leechers of the blood of Laity).
the communists are using all this to provoke the Christian Community of Kerala-Syrian Christians.
