I’ve been rather ill recently, culminating in a few days of enforced bedrest. I was allowed out for an hour this evening to make the 5pm Mass as I haven’t been for two weeks and I was craving it! It made me so grateful to be in a position to get there. It was a very ordinary service, and to be honest, I didn’t register much of what was going on because of a mixture of pain and medication, but I was glad to be there. Afterwards, one of the catechists saw me waiting for my lift, and made a point of pulling over to see how I was as I hadn’t been at RCIA. It was so lovely to be remembered. A little token from God to let me know He hadn’t forgotten me either.

I just wanted to share because I come on CAF and it’s so often filled with complaints about this or that to do with church, and I wanted to encourage people that if you look, you will definitely find some gems.

So happy for you, and so relieved to hear something posititve for a change.
God bless you!

Glad you are feeling a bit better. A number of people were wondering/worried about you.

You are in my prayers.

Blessings,
Stephie

Thank you. I am finding coming to CAF a bit of a trial right now with endless posts about certain gripes, and they are gripes and it’s a real shame because I don’t think it’s remotely constructive or edifying.
And it’s not the church I see at all.

I know. In spades.
But we love you and are praying for you!!!

Hey JoyToTheWhirled, sorry you’ve been unwell. Hope you get back to full health soon.

I read this forum with interest, but I rarely see anything that reflects my experience of being a Mass-attending Catholic in NW England. There are a lot of people here who are very interested in the fine detail, rather than the bigger picture (in my opinion).

It’s all quite enjoyable and relaxed at my church, we’ve just got a new priest and he seems to want to make some good changes - which I welcome, we all need to refresh things from time to time. I don’t worry if this thing and that thing are different at other churches, we all have the same faith and all the priests in my town (God bless them) have good intentions and kind hearts - they just have their own ideas.

You’ll have to forgive me, I’m on opiates, but I’m a bit lost. I do love A Christmas Carol, though 🙂

I was just checking to see your Level of Response in light of your being on opiates. You have passed with flying colors.👨‍🎨

Your gratitude for the Catholic Faith is a much needed beacon of light here at CAF, as well as, in the world. Thanks!

I’m glad you’re feeling better! I have to have a D&C Tuesday and there’s a chance I might have cancer, so if you all are up at 7:30 am Central time (American time)
pray for me, please.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better. You had a wonderful experience of what a Church is; a community of faith & caring. Thanks for sharing an uplifting story about a Church experience. God bless.

Praying for you,Joy and for Hope.
Hope you get better and soon…
Is there any other thing we can do? Do you have a little hobby you can do in the meantime?

We all know that Church is a blessing you must learn how to wait for it.

Hope, I am praying for you.

I have been praying lots today and passing the time with some embroidery. Still have some pain and discomfort, but it’s hardly surprising given what my poor organs have been through!

There’s nothing you, or even I can do except what I hate doing…is to wait. But thank you.
My husband and I took a long ride in our Jeep, it was kind of chilly, but it was fun.
