What Church Law are you referring to? Canon Law covers the internal operations withing the Church and does not really apply to the non-Church aspects of life. I do not see this as applicable.

The Catholic Church has nothing similar to the Islamic Sharia law.

I definitely would, but you have to respect other people’s religious beliefs- so it wouldn’t work in practice. Nice idea though!

Sorry, I meant the laws instated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

So what laws are you refering to… Thou shalt not murder, or that all Catholics are to believe in the Real Presence.

Can you please give us an example of maybe 2 or 3 of these laws you are referring to?

Peace!

Much of Church law would not apply to public law(as sacraments). Much of Church law is in public law(most commandments and discrimination). Natural Law is the root of both sources. Is there a particular section of Church Law you refer to?

I believe it is the natural law (ie. homsexual relations are sinful etc.)

No I would not make this law illegal in secular law. If we made sins illegal we would all certainly be hardened criminals. Although certain aspects of homosexuality can cause distress to the social fabric. it is not a crime where there is a victim. SUch as murder.

Certainly I would create legeslation that would protect society such as defining marriage between a man and woman but I would never make the act of homosexual sex illegal.

Peace!
