As massive demonstrations moved into their second week in Cairo — with more than 250,000 protesters filling the streets demanding an end to the regime of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak — the Vatican’s top ambassador said there is a “sense of uncertainty” in the north African nation.

There is nothing to fill the void in this country, should the president step down. The media fails to report the whole story of what is behind this wave of unrest and it seems as though the country will be plunged into total chaos. There is nothing to be gained from what is happening to improve the status of the citizenry that has been reported. It seems very odd that our president is asking for Mubaraks resignation. What is the NEXT step that will prevent a complete state of lawlessness and failure of infrastructure? Don’t count on unity between Muslims and Christians in Egypt anymore than it has been seen anywhere else in the world.
