The former assistant Bishop of Newcastle, Paul Richardson, has been received into full communion with the Holy See, I am pleased to reveal. Richardson – also a former Anglican bishop in Papua New Guinea and diocesan bishop of Wangaratta in Australia – was received into the Church at the chaplaincy at Durham University last month.

Very interesting news. This past summer, then Bishop Richardson penned an article for the “Sunday Telegraph” declaring that Great Britain was no longer a “Christian Nation”:

I also ran into an interesting article Richardson penned regarding the importance of prayer in healing:

Does anybody know if he is presently married? I’d be interested in what his options are. I presume he could be ordained as an RC priest, married or not. Is making him an RC bishop a possibility?
