Hi.
So I am in a state of flux, I desire the magisterium and I love the notion of the Catechism. I am being drawn to the idea that Christ did build his Church on Peter and the line of apostles are represented by the Church today. However I still have many many hang ups with the Catholic Faith.
However, what intrigued me was one day during work I stopped by a beautiful Church of England church. I had no intention of speaking to anyone, I just went there to read the daily reading. The Vicar however asked me if I enjoyed my job (I was wearing an NHS name badge), I said “yes, do you?” He smiled.
I told him my struggle for clarity in Scripture, how it’s possible to have numerous doctrines all based on the same Book. He told me he knew exactly what I meant. He told me to struggle on and that if we don’t, things will never progress. I would have liked to ask, “progress to where?” But I didn’t, however this idea of struggling with Scripture to progress sounded very rational. What are your thoughts? I found it an interesting potential sign post as I’m looking at a Chruch change.
