Church of the Holy Innocents NYC

Hey,
Thanks to all of you that have responded to my trends
Now I have news, Is anyone from Holy Innocents Church on this?
Well the restoration project for this grand and historic church right smaking in NYCs fashion district, is now a reality
But we need help, if you don’t know already, Holy Innocents’ offers the Latin Mass EVERYDAY, Low Masses and EF masses, Missa Cantana’s and even Ponticfical
masses are said in this church. We even have a all night prayer vigil every First Friday
starting and ending with EF mass. It is home to the Return crucifix and have many additional masses and has a MOVABLE novus Ordo altar, (Deo Gratias). But in order to continue serving the Faithful, we need to restore this church, we have to renovated EVERTHING from lighting to the sanctary itself
has to be fixed. Poor lighting, chiping paint, wax build up have made the church look old and forgotten. But it has not ! That’s when you come in, if you are in the NYC area please go to this church envelopes containing a study will be there. Address and contact is on the website:

I am of Holy Innocents. Thanks for posting about the prospective renovations. Holy Innocents is a beautiful church with a strong traditional community of faithful worshipers whether they are commuter, parishioner, visitor and otherwise.

The “novus ordo” altar should be more correctly referred to as the freestanding altar. Yes its primary function is for Masses said versus populum according the 1970 Missal Ordinary Form. However it has also been used in the celebration of Extraordinary Form Masses ad orientem when the High Altar was temporarily impeded by scaffolding.

With altar nomenclatures inside I am glad you have referenced the fact that Holy Innocents is the most active apostolate in the Extraordinary Form liturgical rites. Masses are offered daily with at least three high Masses weekly on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Our Lord is available for adoration weekday afternoons and various prayer groups host their devotions monthly. It would be a terrible loss to let Holy Innocents just be another page in American Catholicism. Let us always pray for the parish its priests its staff and worshippers.

I go there as often as possible but usually for Adoration. From time to time I will attend the Latin Mass. It is a wonderful church and the priests are great.
