My former parish in Houston, Holy Rosary, located in Midtown, also uses intinction sets for distribution of communion. The congregation receives at kneeling at the communion rail. Those receiving the body and blood do so by intinction and on the tongue, those wishing to recieve body only receive it in the hand. It helps that the parish is home to a Dominican priory, so there are three Dominican priests on staff and others in residence, so there are at least two priests (generally three) distrubuting communion. Holy Rosary is also one of the few parishes I know that still has altar servers serving as paten bearers during communion.
Someone upthread said that only priests can distribute by intinction. It is my understanding that deacons, as ordinary ministers of communion, also have faculties for intinction. Does anyone have a cite on this?
