Very well said. šŸ‘

This has become an issue only because our current society is obsessed with sex and sexual practices.

All of us have our crosses to carry.

The alcoholic is tempted by alcohol.
The short-tempered person can easily turn violent or verbally abusive.
The homosexual (or gay, if you will) suffers from same-sex attraction.
And, of course, a heterosexual man or woman can be tempted to adultery, pornography, fornication, masturbation, and the like.

All of these are mortal sins. It’s just that, for political reasons, the ā€œgay rightsā€ movement (a sad misnomer) pretends that ā€œgay persecutionā€ is the only moral or social evil in today’s world.
RPsych,

Alcoholics are only alcoholics if you accept the ā€œonce an alcoholic always an alcoholicā€ label of the 12 step/disease/religion paradigm…this is the Scarlet Letter school of wear your sin…

The Short tempered is fixed? This also decries that people can change behavior.

The Homosexual/Heterosexual suffer from sex attraction and some can resolve their attraction/passions and some struggle more than others…some struggle little…some struggle alot…

I agree that Mortal sin is Mortal sin…I believe that the issue is not the people you mention rather those that would have us believe that living this sin is the population at large…

There are Adulterers and there are those that live the life of Adultery
There are Fornicators and those that live the life of Fornication
There are those that have sinned…for all have sinned…and those that want to live the sin…this is the difference.

The Catholic Church does not ā€œpreach against gaysā€. It preaches against sin. It is as much against sinful heterosexual lifestyles (sex outside of marriage, for example) as it is against the homosexual lifestyle.

A gay person can be every bit a good Catholic as a straight person. It’s all about turning away from our sin, whatever the nature of our disordered sexual temptations may be.
We are all called to deny ourselves, pick up our cross, and follow Christ and His teachings, regardless of our sexual orientation.
Very well said, Nigel. The homosexualists who infect the Church, however, aren’t content with chastity- they expect the rest of us all to embrace as normal what the Church teaches is an objectively sinful lifestyle and to cease even referring to it as sinful because to do so is persecution.

Wow. Very well put. VERY. šŸ‘
Disagreeing with someone’s lifestyle and/or opinion does not equal hate.
True.
I love how you belittle them

The phrasing here is ā€œhate the sin, love the sinnerā€; this pretty much sums it up.
If there is something the community needs to work on, I would say it’s the ā€˜love the sinner’ part. I think many more people say it than acutally DO it. What are some ways that Catholics can show love towards Homosexuals? The person with the most answers wins. Go.

Peace,
Bill
