The Church says that masturbation is a sin. What if your uraligist says to do it because it is healthy and cleans out the prostate?
I have heard many people on this forum state that the health claims by doctors are faulty.
How can you refute scientific data that says masturbation cleans our your prostate and helps with urinary health? Is it still a sin if it is just for health reasons and no sexual gratification is gained?
Birth control is allowed if used only for medical reasons, can the same not be said for masturbation? I know the Church says its wrong because of the Catechism number 2352 states
“By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure.”
So if it is used for and with the Medical understanding then can it still classify as Sin?
Hope for a good conversation
