What would be the purpose of asking if there has been a change in those things if not to argue that the death penalty is the “norm” for murder? If that was not your purpose then your question was irrelevant. If that was your purpose I saved you the trouble of the follow-up to a “nothing has changed” answer.Wrong question. What was asked was whether there has been any change in the nature of either the crime of murder or the punishment of death.Nothing has changed. The death penalty never was declared the “norm” for murder.
