Wouldn’t saying he never existed deny infallibility of Holy Mother Church?

He is a saint and as such can be prayed with and celebrated. He is still on some calendars.

It is such a shame that this rumor and misunderstanding has taken hold of modern folk.

Great link! Thanks! I’m named after St. Christopher (though my parent’s simply thought it meant “Christ-bearer”, even though it does mean that as well). It helps me to understand how I, as a convert to the faith, can relate to this Saint! Thanks again!

Ahhh yes but then again so did peter, mary, john… and many others. the fact that he is still considered a saint by Holy Mother Church means a ton. And I just dont think the Church of God would allow a “fake” saint. It would harm credibility and authority more than you can imagine.

He is not on the current calendar for the Roman rite but you can bet your sweet bippie he will be in the rotation again!

That is not canonization. Actual canonization is an infallible declaration that a person is in Heaven and the first one was in the year 999.
Prior to that there were no infallible declarations made by the Pope on saints in Heaven.
