Cool video of the incensation of the altar at the Magnificat for the Solemn Vespers of the Exultation of the Cross at CIEL Oxford.

I didn’t see a tabernacle. Are you sure this is Catholic and not Anglican?

Yes, the CIEL is definately Catholic. As to where the tabernacle is, I don’t know.

By the way Rand, how is Holy Rosary doing–I really miss my old parish 😦

Holy Rosary is doing fine. How long have you been in Stubenville? I have two friends going there, and one of those friends has a sister doing her master’s there (I never met her sister before she and her husband moved there). There’s a new prior at Holy Rosary, a young priest. He looks about 25 but he’s about 30 or 31, I think.

Check out the first video on this page. It’s an Anglican Use parish in the US. The song playing is absolutely beautiful (I believe it’s Thomas Tallis; that’s the search I put in and this video came up).

FYI: One can use a service like KeepVid to download the video so that it can be viewed offline.
 
I was at this conference. It was held in Merton College Chapel, a once-Catholic, now-Anglican chapel. To make it suitable for Catholic worship, a consecrated altar stone was placed on the center of the altar. There was no tabernacle; one of the sacred ministers consumed all of the consecrated hosts after each Mass.

Mystery solved, thanks. Would you (since you were a participant) know if there are any other videos or documents/papers from this conference?

The Pontifical Mass on the closing day of the conference was professionally videotaped. Keep checking here to see when it, and possibly other videos, are made available.

The papers from every CIEL Conference are always published in book form; this one will be no exception.
 
Does anyone know by who is this “composition” of the Magnificat?
