I am sorry in advance if this is the wrong forum, I couldn’t find an appropriate one.

But…

Have any of you read these books? I am hoping on reading one of them soon, and I was wondering what people though of them.

I would start with the Confessions. It’s got a lot of “human interest.” Then move up to The City of God, which is more high-powered theology. The Confessions will get you used to Augustine’s style before you launch into the deeper water.

Both are “must reads” for any Christian.

Both are excellent. I read City of God before I read Confessions, but I’d recommend reading Confessions first.

St. Augustine is by far my favorite writer and philosopher.
