Is civil marriage considered as an adultry in the Catholic faith?
I don’t quite understand what you mean. Could you explain, please? Is civil marriage considered as an adultry in the Catholic faith?
Thank you for your replyIf a person is a Catholic, they are required to marry according to Catholic Church law. The Orthodox also have requirements for the form of marriage.
If a person is a Christian who is not a baptized Catholic or Orthodox (i.e. has never been a member of either of these Churches) then they marry validly when they marry each other in a civil ceremony. Same for the unbaptized.
The Catholic Church recognizes marriages between non-Catholic Christians as valid.
I read your other post, and I think you are confusing civil marriage for non-Catholics and civil marriage involving Catholics. If a Catholic or Orthodox attempts a civil marriage, without a dispensation from form, then they are not validy married. This does not apply to non-Catholics and non-Orthodox.
