As noted, there are circumstances where one is not minimizing or mincing a mortal sin; there are circumstances where there simply is no sin at all. And there are plenty of circumstances where poster are subject to scrupulosity.
People are quick to find sin where there may be none. No one here is taking a laissez faire approach to morality. It is a fact however, that we have had 40+ years of lousy (to put it politely) catechesis, and it is entirely possible for someone to be a Catholic and have little or no clue as to what the Church teaches about sin - all of which goes to the issue of knowledge, something that is too often presumed as absolute.
The OP has said very little, and any confessor would be likely to ask some questions rather than simply deciding “Yup. You sinned.” with no more said than what we have from the OP.
And what has been said regarding the issue of whether or not the OP may have committed a mortal sin can all be found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. As that is what the Church teaches, I would suggest no one has minced/minimized anything. It is up to the OP to speak to their confessor.

Is English setting some kind of new theology here? I find no problem with using “Take” instead of “receive.” I mean, seriously, is this the biggest problem that the entire church is faced with? I will take and eat, as instructed. And when properly disposed.
