I’ve never heard of him, I take it he writes stuff with Ukrainian themes?

I like Fernando Sor, The Godfather of Classical Guitar. And also Gaspar Sanze.

I love it that there are so many time periods and countries with the I down styles. I love it that I can step back into 15th century England…John Dowland another favorite.

I’m a fan of Galuppi particulary his sacred music, pity there aren’t too many recordings. Porpora and Hasse are also high on my list.

Anyone up for an obligatory favorite composers poll? 😅

🤓 Um, actually, many of the composers on your list were not alive during the classical period.

When discussing composers of eras outside of the classical period, it would be most accurate to describe their music as “art music.”

You’re welcome. 🧐

Ah, but generally speaking, they’re all put under classical nonetheless. Besides, making several polls for each period would be a pain. 😛

Now if you’ll excuse, I need to practice. I haven’t gotten my 40 hours in yet today. 🤓
If you can practice slowly, you can practice quickly!!! 🤣

I love listening to classical music when I either study or paint! Classical music, or smooth piano jazz, always helps me calm down. It’s the best for when you want to focus on a project without having it be boring.

Also might play some opera songs if I really feel in the mood for it. 🎧

It’s quite interesting how classical music and jazz go together. For computer scientists working in AI distinguishing between those two genre’s turns out to be a remarkably hard problem.

Here are a few more to add to your Liszt: Mendelssohn, Respighi, Scarlatti.

And don’t forget Anonymous – composing for centuries and still going strong.

He wrote music for various hymns in the Divine Liturgy as well as secular music. Did you like the article?

Years ago, The Angelus had an article on Mozart. A French actor/director had a speech problem and went to see a doctor. In addition to speech therapy, the doctor recommended that he listen to Mozart for at least half an hour each day.

He did so, and his speech problem was corrected.

Shortly after that article appeared, the Baby Mozart/Baby Einstein items started appearing in stores.
